Super Talent Godfather Flash Drive
|
The Basics:
The drive itself is extremely compact. It is basically a thin blade that swivels out of a protective shell like a pocket knife. Unlike a typical pocket knife though, the hinge is a bit loose. The drive manages to stay closed just fine, but in the open position the protective shell has a tendency to swing freely.
The black plastic finish of the drive's shell is trimmed in chrome and a holographic image can be found on either side. One side features the Godfather logo, while the other side features a silhouette of the GodFather himself, Don Corleone.
Small ridges on the drive provide a grip for swiveling it out of the shell. Once opened up and ready for use, four golden contacts on one end of a plastic stick indicate the orientation for inserting the drive into an open USB port. More traditional USB drives can only be inserted in one direction, but a drive like this can be inserted backward. This won't cause any damage, but it won't work until spun around.
The next set of images show the Godfather drive with a handful of other flash drives for size comparison. We have a 2GB silver/blue switchblade style drive provided by Sapphire, a 2GB PNY Attache drive, and a 4GB Crucial Gizmo Junior. The Gizmo Junior is the smallest drive I have used, and basically the Godfather would be the same size if you removed the protective shell.
Look for these same drives to be compared in the testing portion of the review.
In Use:
In use, there is nothing to say about the Godfather drive other than it worked as it should... Plug and play simplicity. As promised, the drive did come stocked with graphics and quotes from the movie. The screenshot below shows thumbnails of the 17 image files provided.
Each file features a graphic from the movie or inspired by the movie, as well as a quote printed in the image itself. A handful are in English, but many are in foreign languages, so you may have to trust that it actually says something Godfather related!
I suppose big fans of the movie may get a kick out of these files, but now that I looked at them once I am not sure what I should do with them.
