Testing (continued):
Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts:
Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts also includes a benchmark for testing the DirectX 10 capabilities of your system as it relates to game play. Testing was conducted at a resolution of 1680x1050 and with 8x anti-aliasing. Results in terms of minimum, maximum, and average frame rate values are provided, and higher is better for all three.
The maximum always seems to be about the same for this game, and focusing on the average and minimum values is what generally sets cards apart. The two higher end configurations don't really dominate the Radeon HD4830, and it puts up respectable numbers once again.
Call of Juarez:
Call of Juarez is yet another 3D game to offer a benchmark for analyzing DirectX 10 performance. The results are provided in terms of minimum, maximum, and average frame rate values, and higher is better for each. The results in the chart below were achieved with the system set to a resolution of 1680x1050 and 4x anti-aliasing.
This game just doesn't want to run well with the CrossFire enabled HD3870 Toxic cards, and the Radeon HD4830 takes advantage of the situation. While it can't come close to the HD4870 Toxic, settling for a distant second place isn't so bad.
