Razer Piranha Gaming Communicator

Conclusion:
Overall I found this headset to be a great peripheral for gaming. The build quality is excellent and the device excelled in voice communications. The only real drawbacks would be in listening to music and movies. In those areas the headset lacked the balance to provide a rich sound, in my opinion. Despite not being a surround sound capable device, it in fact was able to give an accurate 3D feel to the games I played.
The appearance is definitely catered to its intended customers. The design is sleek and black, with illuminated highlights on both the headset and the in-line controls. The braided cable covering adds not only to the looks, but also to the durability of the Piranha.
A search of PriceGrabber reveals a few stores with the Razer Piranha Stereo Gaming Headphones in stock for as low as $69.99. At this price point there is quite a bit of competition, but in terms of durability and build quality I feel this is a fair price to pay.
Considering the build quality, exceptional microphone, and gaming appearance, the Razer Piranha Gaming Communicator earns the awards of "Recommended" and "Gaming Approved".
Pros:
» Solid build quality
» Excellent microphone
» Microphone placement is adjustable and not in your face
» Durable braided fiber cable protection
» Illuminated Razer logos on both the headset and the in-line volume control
» Sleek stylish design and overall look
Cons:
» Ear cups smaller than others in this price point
» Microphone mute switch easily activated
» Takes additional time to adjust for comfort for people with larger heads
» Not surround sound capable
