NZXT Tempest Mid-Tower ATX Case
|
External Examination (continued):
Nothing too exciting on the bottom of the case. NZXT chose to use rubber feet attached with an adhesive. I put some effort into prying off one foot, but was unable to remove or loosen the bond. Not to say that I actually wanted to remove them, but I just applied a reasonable force to try and simulate typical abuse. They appear to be firmly fastened and provide grip. In fact you can still see my finger smudges.
The right side of the Tempest is plain, and there is nothing to discuss other than the lack of thumb screws attaching it.
On the the left side, which is also the access side, you'll notice one large plastic molded window. The window itself is not your typical square viewing panel. NZXT molded this window to go with the other styling accents that are present along the top and front edges of the case. I should also note that this window protrudes about 1/3 of an inch from the rest of the door.
Attached to the window you can see where the sixth and final 120mm intake fan is mounted. This fan is mounted using plastic push pins, and is also covered with a silver colored steel mesh which should help to reduce dust buildup inside. The position is perfect to force air over all expansion cards and should help to keep your hot video cards under control.
