NZXT Tempest Mid-Tower ATX Case
|
Packaging:
The packaging this case arrived is as you would expect. The outside includes a few pictures along with details about the product inside.
Inside the box the case is wrapped in plastic while the top and bottom were supported by styrofoam.
External Examination:
After I removed all of the packaging materials and plastic, I was surprised by the size of this case. The Tempest appears to be the deepest case from front to back that I have ever had my hands on. At a little over 22" deep and slightly over 20" tall, interior space should pose no issues.
As I began to look around the case I started to understand why this case is being marketed as the "Airflow King”. The entire front panel consists of 9 steel mesh 5 ¼" bay covers. As you remove the front panel with a light pull from the bottom, you'll notice that all of the mesh grills have filters built in which should help keep your PC dust free. While the appeal of the design may vary from person to person, I am a fan of their use of vented bay covers as seen here.
In an effort to make good use of this design, NZXT has included two 120mm intake fans located directly behind the front panel. Both of the front fans are equipped with additional removable dust filters. The removal of the dust filters was effortless, as they can be flexed or slid in and out of position. I also found it very easy to access this area, which should make for easy cleanup.
