Conclusion:
NZXT has been honing their craft on cases for traditional gaming computers over the past few years, and they have taken all that experience and applied it to this enthusiast grade notebook cooler. Many notebook computers now feature big screens, discrete graphics cards, and other high end components that make them well suited to replace a desktop computer for work or play. If you happen to have one of these high powered notebooks, the Cryo LX is the biggest and baddest cooler you are going to find!
One issue may be price and availability. I searched PriceGrabber and a few of my favorite online stores, and could not find the Cryo LX on any of them. A bit of digging on Google turned up a store with it in stock, and the price definitely got my attention... $69.99. I don't really care how well built or high quality a notebook cooler is, that is beyond what I would consider reasonable. Perhaps when distribution has these things in a few stores known for competitive pricing we will see something a bit more reasonable.
The bottom line on the NZXT Cryo LX Notebook Cooler is that it is a very well made product that could serve an important role for some notebook computers. If you have a larger notebook that generally serves as a desktop replacement and gets worked pretty hard playing games, I would have no problem recommending the Cryo LX, if the price was right.
While it may deserve an award for being built like a tank or being the most extreme notebook cooler I have used, we don't have any awards like that! But, the quality, performance, and convenience do help it to earn the Bigbruin.com "Recommended" award.
Pros:
