Conclusion:
Lately there have not been many cases that have truly excited me. I have yet to figure out exactly what grabbed my attention with the NZXT Lexa Blackline Performance Midtower ATX Case, but the sleek design of a black case with red accents really appealed to me, and I had to check it out. From my previous experience with a case from NZXT I was pretty sure that I would not be disappointed, and the Lexa Blackline lived up to my expectations. In fact, while I normally prefer full tower cases, I have now decided to use this as my primary case.
Sharp looks and design do not necessarily make a great case. What does make a great case is the noise reduction, cooling performance, and other advanced features. This case has it all! The noise reduction and cooling performance are top notch, while the advanced features include tool-less installation, fan filters, a large side window, and three digital thermal probes. One feature you don't get that might show up on a computer enthusiast's wish list would be a removable motherboard tray.
Overall, there are no major faults with the Lexa Blackline Performance Midtower ATX Case. That does not mean the case is perfect, but the faults are very minor. First, the fans use a 4-pin Molex drive connector instead of a 3-pin fan header connector. The second issue is with the front intake fan filter; I like the fact that NZXT included a fan filter, however it is difficult to access for cleaning. For me, this is the biggest issue with the case, and overall it is still minor.
A search of PriceGrabber shows the NZXT Lexa Blackline Performance Midtower ATX Case starting at $99.99 without a power supply. At this price, I would not hesitate to recommend this case to my friends and other computer enthusiasts.
