NZXT Lexa Blackline Performance Midtower ATX Case
August 30, 2007

The Basics (continued):

The back of the case looks fairly typical, with two exceptions. The first unique feature is a plastic cable management cage which I did not find very helpful, but some may appreciate it as they try to keep their cables separated. The cable management cage can be removed if you do not want to use it, and even if you do like it, it must be removed so the side panels can be removed. While it looks nice, the cage is a bit of a nuisance if you get into your case a lot. The second interesting feature is a pair of pre-drilled holes for water cooling tubes. Each hole has a rubber gasket installed which will keep the tubes from rubbing against the case and potentially getting cut.

The top of the case has an 80mm exhaust fan, and this is probably one of the smartest places to put an exhaust fan (you know, since heat rises). NZXT has integrated a fan grill into the case's steel, and while this is a nice touch, it does limit you from modifying it with a unique fan grill without really getting serious about modding.

While a standard power supply will fit just fine, if you happen to use a power supply that is longer than a standard ATX unit (such as the Enermax Galaxy 1000W and Ultra X3 1000W), you might run into an interference issue with this top exhaust fan.

While the side panel opposite the window may be plain black steel, the edge of the front bezel on this side is where the front Firewire, headphone, microphone, and dual USB 2.0 ports are located. These are handy to have at the front of the case, but I would think the other side would make more sense as that is the side that most users will have better access to.

Normally I ignore the bottom of the case as there is never anything to see, but NZXT has decided to make use of this space with another location for a fan. This would be a good place for an intake fan, blowing cool air onto your video cards. Also visible are some non-slip rubber feet on all four corners of the case.
