External Examination (continued):
The lower portion of the front bezel flips down to reveal even more features. When not in use the MonCaso 972S can maintain its rather simple appearance, but when needed you can access a microphone jack, a headphone jack, a Firewire port, a USB 2.0 port, and a multi-format media card reader. Having all of these connections up front is very convenient, but having them out of sight in normal use is a very nice touch.
The image below takes a closer look at the bank of buttons found on the right side of the case's front.
Moving to the back of the case we find the setup shown below. There are openings for the power supply and I/O panel, two 80mm exhaust fans, and seven expansion slots. One slot is taken up by a bracket that allows the touchscreen's VGA connection to pass through in order to connect to your video card. You will want/need a video card with two connections so that you can drive the touchscreen and your main monitor, and for those with DVI connections only, you will need to provide your own DVI to VGA adapter.
The next two images take a closer look at the back of the case. The VGA cable is long enough to reach any of the expansion slots, but with a DVI to VGA adapter in line it does add a bit of extra depth to the system. Sliding this into a shallow rack could be made more difficult by the extra several inches this stack up will create.
