External Examination:
The front face of the Maxtop 4U ICX-4830B-20BX Rackmount Chassis has a plexiglass door that covers about half of the case. A lock on the door doubles as a handle, and the plexiglass provides a window which allows the optical drives and status lights to be seen. To the left of the door are slotted vents for the front intake fan.
The front panel includes the typical LED indicator lights and power and reset buttons, but also includes some items not always found on a rackmount chassis. There are also two USB ports, a microphone jack, and a headphone jack, which indicate that the chassis is built for business and a bit of pleasure.
The side of the case is plain, but features many screws that can be removed so that rails can be attached for use in a rack. The image below also shows the handles on the front of the case which are necessary when installing the case into a rack.
The back panel of the ICX-4830B-20BX looks similar to just about any other ATX case. At one end is the power supply cut out, next to that we have the back panel I/O opening, and finally seven expansion slots. This case does not have any rear exhaust fans, and the area where these are usually found is filled with punch outs in the steel to allow for ports that are not included in the I/O area.
While there are no fan on the back of the case, the top panel does include two 80mm fans which are configured as exhaust fans. They can easily be removed and changed to intake fans if you prefer.
