Packaging and Accessories (continued):
All of the contents were secure inside the box. The enclosure was fit into a recess in a cardboard frame, while the data cable, AC adapter, and foot-stand were included underneath. The quick installation guide was helpful aside from a minor typo. The word installation was spelled as 'inatallation' here as well as on the box, and these little slips can give the wrong impression on quality control.
The accessories provided were sufficient, but including an eSATA cable would have been much more 'fascinating' to me.
The Basics:
The Mapower enclosure isn't anything incredible to look at, but it is built for stability and durability.
The aluminum case is tough and its unique design is perfect for keeping your drive cool. Not only is the top and bottom covered in holes, but there are more holes on the front and sides for ventilation.
The back of the drive has a power switch which is a good feature if you don't want to keep the drive running constantly. It also has two screws to remove the panel to install the hard drive. The back also includes inputs for USB 2.0, e-SATA, and DC power input.
