The Basics (continued):
The frame itself is black plastic, and is really rather dull; something like the 'free' frames that may have come on your vehicle from the dealer. It would be nice if the frame itself was a bit more stylish, and I wonder if there are other versions planned since the Roadmaster USA promotional material shows the frame as being metal (or at least chromed). That said, the plastic should be easy enough to paint, and if someone was so inclined they could mask off the LED area and customize the frame to their liking.
The array of LEDs is shown up close in the above right image, and if you care to count for yourself you should find that there are 23 across and 7 down, for a total of 161 LEDs.
The back of the frame is hollow and you can see the criss-cross pattern molded in to provide strength. The area around the LEDs has been sealed, and the wire comes out the back near the very bottom. This could cause an issue with installation if you are looking for a flush mount to a flat surface, as the wire will cause a bit of a bump unless the hole in the vehicle is directly behind this location.
The images below show the remote control which will not only be used while setting up the frame, but while in use to switch between the five messages that can be created. As shown in the below right image, a watch-style battery has been included.
