The Basics (continued):
The next images take a closer look at features found on top of the printer. In the center we find a flip up panel which provides a 2.4" LCD for navigating the printers controls. The fairly simple keypad underneath the screen is all that is required to control every function available. In the below right image we see the paper loading slot, where the most typical type of media that will be loaded has to be 4x6 photo paper.
The below left image takes another look at the front of the P450, this time with the paper exit tray opened. The below right image shows it with the whole top opened up in order to provide access to the single color cartridge required (and provided).
A look around back on the P450 reveals a few more interesting features. In the upper left corner of the image below is another USB port, and this one is specifically designed to be used with a Bluetooth adapter (not included). With a Bluetooth adapter connected, the P450 would then be able to print wirelessly from cameras, including mobile phones with camera capabilities! The port in the upper rigth corner of the image is a TV out connection which would allow for any media in the P450 to be shared in a slide show to any TV/monitor with a composite video connection.
Finally, we get to the accessories provided with the Lexmark P450. There is a Setup Instructions poster, a Lexmark #33 ink cartridge, a power cable, a three pack of 4x6 Lexmark photo paper, a guide to Lexmark support, and a complete 450 Series User's Guide. Considering how feeble the bundles can be on some refurbished items, Lexmark has really put things (back) together nicely!
With a variety of 4x6 photo paper available on the market (and generally at extremely low prices per sheet), the #33 ink cartridges from Lexmark is the only consumable of any concern. Much to my delight, keeping the P450 full of ink won't cost an arm and a leg, as PriceGrabber shows several stores selling this cartridge for just over $20 including tax and shipping.
