| Leadtek Limited WinFast GTX260 EXTREME+ Video Card

Leadtek is a Taiwanese manufacturer of computer components perhaps best known for their TV tuners and desktop graphics cards. This review is going to take a look at one of their newest graphics cards, the Leadtek Limited WinFast GTX260 EXTREME+. While Nvidia's GTX260 GPU may have been released earlier in 2008, this card was just announced in January of 2009.
The promotional image below shows the 896MB card in question, and some of the things that make it different. In addition to an interesting design on the cooler and new packaging, this GTX260 features 216 stream processors and an overclocked GPU specified at 602MHz.
Before looking at the sample provided for review, let's take a look at some published data on the Leadtek WinFast GTX260 EXTREME+ graphics card. This is a factory overclocked card that offers a GPU running 26MHz faster than Leadtek's "stock" offering (602MHz versus 576MHz). Of interest is that Leadtek offers another GTX 260 EXTREME+ card that is not marked as being "Limited", and it comes with the same overclock on the GPU, as well as a sizable overclock on the memory (1107MHz versus 999MHz). Keeping these three cards straight could be difficult given the similar specifications, physical apperances, and packaging, and figuring out why the Limited card isn't highest end version is also confusing.
