Kingwin Mach 1 ABT-800MA1S 800W Power Supply
|
Accessories and Cables:
Like most power supplies, the Kingwin Mach 1 800W unit includes a power cord and a booklet. What might make this power supply different than many is not only that it is modular, but the approach taken to make it modular. The cables are very unique looking as they are all finished with what they call "aircraft style" connectors.
Most of the cables are modular, so you only need to use the ones you need to power the components installed. In the image below we see the connectors which are not modular, but hard wired; from left to right: the 20+4-pin ATX motherboard connector, a 4-pin 12V connector, and an 8-pin 12V connector.
The below left image shows the dual 6/8-pin cables for PCI-E video cards. Notice the very high quality heat shrunk tubing and modular connectors. The "aircraft style" connectors actually screw into the rear of the power supply. In the below right image there are two modular SATA cables that provide a total of six SATA power connectors (three on each cable).
The next two modular cables are for the standard Molex and floppy connectors. The below left image shows a cable with four standard Molex connectors and one floppy connector. The below right image shows a cable with four standard Molex connectors, which provides a total of eight of this style.
Operation:
Turning the power supply on for the first time is like being the guest of honor at a surprise party. The blue lights on the 140mm fan look pretty sweet. But, the blue lights on the modular connectors is what makes the unit special.
