With the packaging cut open and everything removed, I have to say I was surprised at how much was stuffed in here!
In addition to the HDV-188 camera itself, you get everything shown in the next three images. The below left image shows the "Quick Guide" user's manual, the application and driver CD, and a well made carrying pouch with Velcro closure and belt loop. The below right image provides a close up look at the rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, a replacement set of ear buds for the included headphones, and a wrist strap that attaches to the camera itself.
 
The final image in this section shows off the balance of accessories, most of which are cables. There is an AV cable that converts an 1/8" jack to two RCA jacks, a USB cable, a set of headphones, an HDMI cable, and an AC power adaptor. The HDMI cable has a mini connection on the end that plugs into the camera, but on the other end it features the standard connection for use with your typical HDTV or monitor.
The bundle of accessories will let you get up and running with the HDV-188, with little else to buy. The one short coming seems to be in the memory department, since only 64MB are provided onboard. Flash memory is extremely cheap these days, and you would think it wouldn't be a big deal for Jazz Cameras to include something more reasonable, like 2GB or even 4GB. For this review, Geeks.com has provided an 8GB Sandisk brand Secure Digital memory card which will take the camera right up to its maximum rated capacity.
