In Win BT611 mATX Case with 300W Power Supply
June 04, 2007

The Basics:

My first impression of the In Win BT611 mATX Case was that it had a sleek and somewhat sophisticated look. The silver and black color scheme is nothing new, but it is generally easy to work with. The basic styling makes it appropriate for a desktop system or even an HTPC, but due to the narrow width of the chassis it might not stack up well in an a home theater entertainment center.

The bulk of the chassis is black painted steel (including the bottom which isn't shown), while the silver front face is all plastic. The black steel has a variety of perforations for cooling, and in these images we can see a circular vent located above the typical CPU position and a rectangular vent that should be just above the video card and any other expansion cards.

The front face has a slick uninterrupted design made possible by the use of two doors over the drive bays and connection ports. One large door opens to reveal 5.25" and 3.5" drive bays, and a smaller door opens to reveal audio and USB connections. The latching mechanisms on these doors aren't the best or most robust, and you might have to press a few times to find the sweet spot to actually make it work. Additionally, you will also find that the catch is quite strong if you install an optical drive, as the drive's tray will not be able to push the door open if an eject is requested by any software.

Taking a look at the sides of the case reveal more openings for cooling. The side closest to the power supply has an opening for an 80mm exhaust fan, and on the opposite side is a rectangular array of perforations that will allow the fan to draw air across the drives and motherboard.
