Logitech Harmony 1000 Universal Remote and Wireless Extender
July 30, 2007

Logitech is one of the most recognizable names in computer peripherals, perhaps best known for the mice they have been making since way back in 1981. While they still offer a wide variety of mice, they have expanded their line up to include other popular items such as keyboards, webcams, speakers, and video game controllers.

Despite the success of their long established lines, what may be one of the most exciting products in the Logitech family comes via a fairly recent acquisition. Just over three years ago Logitech purchased a Canadian company, Intrigue Technologies, the maker of the Harmony remote control. Since then, Logitech has put some muscle behind this product line and the results have been met with a good deal of acclaim.

The Harmony line up presently consists of a handful of advanced remote controls that range in price from well under $100 to well over $300. In this review we will be taking a look at the top of the line ($325+) Logitech Harmony 1000 Universal Remote, as well as a very handy accessory, the Harmony RF Wireless Extender. We'll start by looking at the basics of the Harmony 1000, including some published data taken from the Logitech website...
