The Basics (continued):
The YGHMD717DT includes two bookshelf speakers which connect to the main unit using a five foot composite cable. The speaker enclosures are painted black and the speakers are covered by a shiny silver mesh screen held on by four plastic inserts for easy removal. Behind the screens there are is a 4" driver and a 3" tweeter.
Turning the speaker to the back, I was surprised to find a bass reflex port. While no true sub-woofer is included, this should provide a little extra bass from the travel of the 4" driver. At the top of the unit is a sticker that provides a little information regarding the speakers.
With the mesh screen removed from the speaker, the back of the screen is visible. The frame of the screen is made out of particle board with the screen material securely glued in place.
The accessories packaged with the YGHMD717DT include a simple instruction manual (not pictured), wireless remote control with batteries, TV Antenna, FM Antenna, and AM Antenna.
The infrared remote control is capable of controlling every feature the unit has to offer. Since the remote is an IR (infrared) device, you have a direct line of sight for it to function.
