BIOS:
The ECS A770M-A (V1.0) AMD AM2+ motherboard uses a BIOS from American Megatrends, Inc. In the BIOS you will find all the standard features for configuring hard drives, peripherals, power management, etc., so I will only discuss a few of the advanced features that might be of greater interest.
The Advanced Chipset Setup menu provides access to two sub-menus. The first is for the HT Configuration menu, which is where you can set the HT Frequency. You can manually select between 200MHz and 1GHz in 200MHz increments, or you can simply set it to Auto. There are other options available, but I was unable to find any documentation on what these settings actually do.
The Memory Configuration menu allows adjustments to be made to the system memory. The options are rather limited, and you can not take full control of all settings / timings. The list below details some of the options available.
» Memory Clock Mode: Auto, Limit, Manual
» Limit and Manual provides Memclock Value: 200MHz, 266MHz, 333MHz, 400MHz, 533MHz
» DRAM Timing Mode: Auto, DCT 0
» DCT 0 enables hidden menu: CAS Latency: Auto, 3Clk, 4Clk, 5Clk, 6Clk, 7Clk DH_Only
» Bank Interleaving: Auto
» Channel Interleaving: Disabled, Address bits 6, Reserved, Address bits 12, Reserved, Xor of Address Bits (20:16, 6), Reserved, XOR of Address bits (20:16, 9)
» Memory Hole Remapping: Disable, Enabled
» DCT unganged Mode: Disabled, Enabled
» Power Down Enable: Disable, Enabled
» Power Down Mode: Channel, Chip Select
