Cooler Master Cosmos S Full Tower Case
|
Internal Examination (continued):
The inside of the top of the Cooler Master Cosmos S full tower case is also packed with more features. There is one pre-installed 120mm fan, with spots for two more (optional) fans to be installed. Although I have not gotten to removing the top panel, you can mount any of the top 120mm fans above where you see them in the images below.
In the images below we will take a quick look at the right side of the interior of the Cosmos S. The 5.25" device bays all have a quick install/release button. This is the first time I have used a case with this feature, at the least it looks better than the tool-less design with the plastic slider. On the bottom is the default location of the four 3.5" internal device bay cage. This is the first downgrade I have seen with the Cosmos S. In the previous Cosmos cases there was a six device cage where each hard drive would have its own caddy. I am really disappointed at this cage compared to the nicer hard drive system used on previous models like the Cosmos 1000.
With the other side panel removed you can see there are a few open areas for routing cables. There is also an opening at the top of the case that the cabling for the front panel connections is already being routed through to the motherboard area.
Underneath the case you can see the ventilation holes for the power supply. Since the case is raised up on the horizontal bars shown, there is enough clearance for air to be sucked into the power supply. In the below right image you can see the air filter for the optional 120mm fan.
