| Cooler Master X Craft 250 and 350 Hard Drive Enclosures

Installation:
Removing the cover and installing a hard drive is supposed to be quick and easy because of the "tool less" design. There is a button in the rear that is pushed in and the top cover should slide out, but it was a royal pain in the neck on the X Craft 350. The top cover could not be slid off because it was too slick and my hand would just slide down. It took me at least 5 minutes to slide the cover over so I could install the hard drive. I would love a screw or two in place of this design.
In the below left image we see the X Craft 350 with the cover removed, revealing the inside of the enclosure. Notice the blue rectangle on the inside of the top cover. Remove the blue plastic when you install a drive to reveal a thermal pad to transfer heat from the hard drive to the aluminum cover for extra heat dissipation. For the X Craft 350 RX-3SB you need a SATA hard drive, but it is not necessary to have a computer with SATA if you don't mind the slower USB 2.0 speeds. For this installation I used an 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA 3 Gbps hard drive, which can be seen in the below right image. Simply line up the screw holes in the drive with the small inserts on the enclosure, replace the top cover, and slide it back into place.
 
The cover of the X Craft 250 is much easier to remove with one screw holding it together. Although this enclosure is not tool less, I had no issues removing the cover like I had with the X Craft 350. The little bag is holding the shockproof rubber inserts and screws for securing the hard drive to the board.
Installing a 80GB 2.5" Seagate Momentus 5400RPM IDE hard drive was very easy. First insert the shockproof rubber inserts into the holes on the board. Then line up the screw holes on the drive with the holes in the board and put the screws in. Slide the board back into the cover and it is ready to go.
