Packaging:
The box for the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1000W power supply box looks a lot like the one from the 750W Real Power Pro power supply I reviewed last year. The front features certification logos for things like Nvidia SLI, 80 plus efficiency, and an outstanding 5 year warranty, while the back lists the bulk of the features, specifications, and details on the cables included.
Opening the lid of the package reveals that the power supply, cables, and power cord/accessories are neatly contained in their own foam compartments.
The Basics:
The label on the side of the power supply shows the standard technical specifications and capabilities of the product. The 3.3V and 5V rails each have a rating of 40 Amps and a 250W combined power. There are six 12V rails ranging from 18 Amps to 28 Amps, and 960 Watts of total power. The back of the unit has a wide open honeycomb design to allow heat from the components inside to dissipate with minimal restriction. Surprisingly there is no on/off switch on the back of the unit. However there is a small light that turns green while the unit is powered on, and red when it is off.
The only fan included in the Real Power Pro 1000W power supply is a 135mm, 11 blade ultra-silent unit with intelligent speed control. The model of the fan is DFS132512H, which is made by Young Lin Tech.
