Packaging and Accessories:
The Thermaltake BlacX SE hard drive dock is sold in the packaging shown in the images below. You get a good look at the product, as well as a detailed listing of the key features and specifications.
As a bit of a detour, take a look at the back of the box where it gives a labeled view of the dock. Note the “button” is simply labeled as “button”. It’s labeled the same way on the box and in the instructions. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if someone assumed it was an eject button, and it turned out to be a self-destruct button? Not a big deal, just somewhat funny.
The next image shows everything that is included. You get the drive dock protected in a plastic bag and a cardboard frame, a user's guide, a USB cable, and a power adapter.
The Basics:
My first impression was “cool, it looks sleek and sturdy”. The name and appearance offer a sense of ruggedness, and the first impression was definitely a good one.
The black dock has an opening on top for 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drives, four USB ports on the front, and on the back is where you will find a power button, power connection, and USB connection for your PC.
