Testing (continued):
Everest Ultimate Edition's memory tests show the P5N7A-VM performing slightly behind the P5K-Premium in Read, Copy and Latency, but it takes a slight lead in Write performance. Testing memory performance was a little bit of an issue because I couldn't get the Zotac motherboard to run stable at 800MHz with my Patriot modules, so to keep things balanced, I kept all three motherboards at 667MHz and tried to set memory to 4-4-4-12, but was unable to confirm those settings with the P5N7A-VM because Everest and CPU-Z failed to detect the memory timings on the P5N7A-VM.
Performance Test's Pass Mark Rating shows all three motherboards within 4 percent of each other. The P5N7A-VM and the leading P5K-Premium are separated by less than 1 percent. The P5K-Premium with a dedicated GeForce 8500GT leads the pack in 3D graphics, with the P5N7A-VM trailing by a notable margin and the Zotac 630i-ITX far behind.
