Benchmarks (continued):
Next up of course was 3DMark03, a little more technology added, a bit more difficult to run on some older video cards, and again, the scores are so close its hard to say there is a benefit. Although there is a 15 Mark favor to the 2 GB set.

Finally, we test both sets of RAM with the hardest and newest of the 3DMark series, 3DMark05. Even less of an increase than 3DMark03 showed, with only a 13 Mark advantage.

With the 3DMark results ending in near ties, it was time to see if any of the newest, most modern games would show any improvement. I decided to jump first into the game that looks to be the most system hungry of the group. Battlefield 2 has some very high system resources and looks amazing when turned to the high settings. During installation, a screen popped up claiming that if you wanted to use the Ultra high settings, 500MB of video RAM would be necessary. I figured there would be some advantage to twice the RAM. I ran Battlefield 2 at 1280x1024 resolution both with and without 4x AA/AF. The results shown below do give some advantage to the 2GB setup with 4X AA/AF turned on, but not by much.
