Conclusion:
This is a case of surprises, some good and some bad.
On the good side, a removable motherboard tray, the fan controller/display, dragon graphics and exceptional build quality. On the bad side are the odd clips for mounting drives.
On the good side, the integrated handle for transporting the case is well built and never gave me the feeling of breaking. On the bad side, they could have included a third fan, the display will accept three, why not include three.
On the great side, a well-built, powerful modular power supply is included.
My overall feeling about this case is positive. The clip issue can be dealt with in a conventional manner by using screws to secure the drives. MGE has come up with a well-built pre-modded case that will catch the attention of anyone lucky enough to see it powered up. I would highly recommend this case to anyone looking for a high end, pre-modded aluminum case with a quality power supply.
I found many places selling the MGE XG Dragon case starting at $179.00 including Newegg and TigerDirect, but ClubIT.com retails this case for $169.00.
I give the MGE XG Dragon a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars and a rating of "Highly Recommended", with the only deductions being the mounting clips and somewhat premium price.
Final Rating (4.5 out of 5 stars):
Pros:
• Incredible glowing graphics
• Front panel display
• Power supply
• Build quality
Cons:
• Drive clips
• Price
