The Basics (continued):
Opening up the case you can get a better look at the adjustable CPU cooling duct. Also inside the case is a black box with the now familiar dragon on the top.
 
The black box contains a large bag of drive mount clips, a small bag of standoffs and screws, a power cord, a few items to aid in cable management, and a very well written owners manual that covers not only the simple basics, but also covers the included power supply. Also in this manual are great pictures and diagrams showing how to hook up the front panel display and configure it. This is by far the most complete and well-done manual I have ever gotten with any case. A representative page from the manual is shown below.
 
MGE has also included one of their own power supplies. The 500-Watt MGE500WP is one of a few surprises included with this case. On the left is a shot of the specification label. The specifications from the MGE website claim the Dragon comes with the active PFC version power supply, but reading the label on the one in this case, I came to the conclusion that it is not the active version. The picture on the right shows the removable power supply bracket already mounted to the supply, and both of the cooling fans.
 
Another one of those surprises is the fact that the MGE500WP power supply is semi-modular. The main motherboard connector is hardwired to the supply, but the Molex connectors, floppy connectors, SATA power connectors and the PCIe video power connectors are removable. Use only what you need and disconnect the rest from the PSU. This nice of a supply is rarely included when you purchase a case. You can see in the picture on the right that there is plenty of each connector available also.
 
Another welcome surprise is the removable motherboard tray. Putting a system together in a case that has this feature is pure joy. Wire management becomes easier; things go together much nicer, and future changes are simpler. The motherboard tray is removed by loosening 4 thumbscrews from the back and sliding the tray rearward. Also, notice in the picture on the left, the power supply and mount have been installed.
