Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen MP3/FM/Recorder Player
|
Conclusion:
Super Talent has come up with a great little device that does much more than just play MP3s. Even though the voice recording feature was of questionable quality, it did work well enough to be useful. The FM radio worked well as did the photo album function.
One aspect of the Super Talent MEGA Screen Player can be seen as both a positive and a negative, depending on who you ask. The device does not support DRM, so you can not use subscription based music or otherwise protected files from places such as iTunes and Napster. Some may find DRM support to be a necessity, while those who have all their own MP3 files may be grateful it isn't there, especially if it means saving money (on the player and the music).
Using PriceGrabber and a general search of the Internet, I found the 512MB, 1GB and 2GB versions of the Super Talent MEGA Screen from $65 up to a high of around $120. Even at the highest price the MEGA Screen seems like a great value compared to an iPod Nano. I think anyone in the market for a compact MP3 Player should take a look at Super Talent's MEGA Screen... it sure offers a lot of bang for the buck.
For it's overall good looks, ease of use, quality of construction, and multi function capability, I give the Super Talent MEGA Screen MP3 Player 4 out of 5 stars and give it the Big Bruin "Recommended" award.
Final Rating (4 out of 5 stars):

Cons:

» No support for DRM
