The Cables:
As mentioned earlier, the 20-pin motherboard and the 4-pin connector are separate cables that are hard wired into the Spire Rocketeer V SP-500W, although they do slide together to make one connector.
There are also two 4-pin cables hardwired to the Rocketeer V SP-500W which are marked "P4". These are the additional power connectors that Intel P4 and AMD A64 CPUs require.
The rest of the cables are all modular, and are very nicely sheathed in a stiff silver coating with blue connectors, as are the hard wired cables.
Unfortunately there is only one PCI Express cable included, so the Rocketeer will not support the new generation SLI video cards. Also included are one SATA cable with two SATA connectors, and four drive cables (two with one 4-pin Molex and a floppy connector, and two with two 4-pin Molex connectors). This leaves two extra ports on the power supply and although I had enough Molex connectors to power the system a few more would have been nice, and would have made sense.
Overall the cables look good and although a bit stiff, with a firm hand they went where I wanted them and they were good about staying where I put them. I did have some issues with cable length that I will cover in the installation section.
While we're talking about the cables, we might as well look at the interesting cable management provided by Spire. The Velcro tie wraps are some what of an unusual but nice touch> They are fairly wide, very colorful, and some of the stickiest Velcro I have ever used.
