OCZ PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite 2GB Kit
|
Conclusion:
OCZ Technology has another great memory kit on their hands! The PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite 2GB dual channel kit outperformed the G.Skill kit in all tests. Sometimes the margin of victory was slight, while other tests shoed the OCZ kit having a significant performance increase. It has now run flawlessly for several weeks while I torture it with all kinds of benchmarks and real world applications.
The results you receive when overclocking will vary greatly depending on your equipment and skill. As I mentioned, I am no where near an expert when it comes to overclocking, but the results I received were still impressive.
A search of PriceGrabber shows the OCZ Special Ops DDR2 6400 2GB kit starting at $373.58. Checking a few other places, I found it as low as $329.99.
I tried to find something negative to say about this kit, and in reality I can not. It has met and exceeded my expectations, which makes it worthy of carrying the OCZ Technology name. If I really have to find something bad about it, I would have to say the cost. At over $300 for 2GB I feel it is a little expensive, however, taking into account the performance and quality of this memory kit, I find the cost to be acceptable. It is all a matter of what you want and need.
Given the performance and impressive features/specifications, I award the OCZ Technology PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite 2GB dual channel kit the ratings of "Highly Recommended" and "Gaming Approved".
