Benchmark Results (continued):
Will the real world of high end games show any difference? This round of tests provided a mixed batch of results. In some games, there was a slight increase with the XTC covered OCZ RAM, and in others, that difference did not show up.
First up was Far Cry...
Then I put the HDR (High Dynamic Range) Lost Coast map to the test and the results were no surprise. Good frame rates across the board.
Quake 4 did however show a few more frames per second with the OCZ EL DDR PC-3500 Gold GX XTC. I repeated this test over and over to verify the results, and each and every time I came up with a margin of victory to the GX XTC.
After the results showed a touch different for the two BH-5 based modules, I was looking forward to running Battlefield 2. I figured if there was going to be a true victor in this battle, then this game would show it. The results, while very close, point to the older OCZ EL DDR GOLD, with the TCCD coming out with a few more frames per second then either of the BH-5.
