External Examination:
After removing the case from the shipping materials it was time to look it over. As you can see in the images below, I received the orange version. If you are purchasing this case, the orange has more of a bronze color to it than a typical orange color. The finish is flawless, and has a metallic look to it. It does not have a high gloss finish, however the metallic flecks in the paint does give it a shine.
In the above left image (and in more detail below) you can see the position of the front audio, microphone, IEEE 1394 and USB ports. The location is nice, however I would like to see them at the top or on the other side of the case to match the direction the door opens.
Here you can see the front of the case with the door opened. There are five 5.25" drive bays, and one 3.5" bay. There is also one of the two power buttons next to the 3.5" bay. The second power button is located below the door, it's the little piece of vertical silver plastic. I like having the power button external to the door as it keeps you from having to open the door when you want to power on the system. The black portion of the door is smoked translucent plastic, so if you install a device that has lights or an LCD display, it will show through.
In the side view you can see how large the case window is, as well as the 120mm fan located behind a filter on the window. I'm impressed that they included a filter as it could help lower the dust inside your case. However, I'm not terribly fond of the opening in the case. I would prefer it to be a plain hole, using a replaceable metal grill. This is a personal preference, and I will not take this into consideration when rating this case. The second picture shows the back of the case, nothing extraordinary here.
