NZXT Adamas Premium Aluminum Chassis
|
The Basics:
The front of the Adamas looks very clean cut with the brushed aluminum. One weird thing is that the model name isn't stamped anywhere on the case; just the NZXT logo is stamped on the top. The top 5.25" device bay is dedicated for a CD/DVD drive with the drawer face already in place and ready to go. I do like this feature, you could install a pink CD/DVD drive and it would still be consistent with the rest of the case since it is hidden behind the matching drawer face plate. None of the external bays have any ventilation; only the bottom has vents for the front 120mm fan. I personally like airflow through unused 5.25" bays rather than just blocking them off.
In the first image you can see where the two 120mm fans are mounted, blowing air right on your CPU and graphics card. On the top of both side panels you see a screw/tool-less removal design, which will save some time when you need to access something inside the box.
On many cases, I have seen one side with big thumb screws but the other side still has normal screws. I do like this new innovative design and see it being a great feature for system builders and modders.
The rear of the unit looks like the back of a standard ATX case. There is an empty space for a power supply, generic motherboard I/O plate, fan mounting area, and the expansion slot area with pull-off covers. I do understand most systems are installed once, but I anticipate I will switch the case to another motherboard setup and might have an issue covering up unused slots with this old school design.
