Corsair Nautilus 500 External CPU Water Cooling Unit

Corsair is definitely best known for their memory products, but they have tried their hand at water cooling twice now. A little over a year ago they introduced the Corsair Cool system, which was their take on the standard internal CPU water cooling setup. Then at this year's Consumer Electronics Show they let everyone have a look at their new design, the Nautilus 500 External CPU Water Cooling Unit.


The Nautilus 500 is much different than the Cool in many ways, and it uses the housing pictured above to hold the pump, reservoir, radiator, and fan outside of your computer case. The idea is to provide high performance, easy to install water cooling on any computer system using a socket 775, 478, 754, 939, or 940 CPU. Having the bulk of the necessary components outside the case will not only ease installation, but should reduce case temperatures and reduce the space necessary inside a case to complete the installation.

We will check out how well the system performs, but first let's take a look at some of the published data from Corsair...
