Wireless Comfort Keyboard (continued):
Moving to the top of the keyboard we find the Multimedia and Favorites buttons. On the far left side we find a Mute button and +/- volume buttons.
In the center we have 5 keys that you can assign your favorite websites to. They will open with a single touch of the button, and the small key with a star brings up a menu to show you what websites are assigned to which button, allowing you to change them if you want (as seen in the screen shot below... sorry I blurred my favorites out so you cant follow me around).
To the right of the Favorites buttons are the remainder of the Multimedia controls which consist of a Play\Pause button, Stop Button, Rewind Button, and a Fast Forward Button. The only issue I found with any of the functions of the Wireless Comfort Keyboard was in these buttons. Although they worked well with Windows Media Player and Win DVD, they had absolutely no effect on Winamp. Because the buttons worked with both of the other media players tested I tend to think this issue belongs to Winamp and not the Wireless Comfort Keyboard or its software.
On the far right, above the number pad, is the F Lock button which toggles between standard F key function and a whole list of commands that are fairly common on many keyboards with the F Lock feature. Next to the F Lock key are three buttons; the first one brings up the Calculator and the next two are to Log Off and to go into Sleep Mode.
The Wireless Comfort Keyboard not only looks good, but it feels great when typing for long periods of time. The layout of all the specialty keys felt very natural to me and in no time at all I was using them without having to look at the keyboard to find them. With the exception of the media control keys not working with Winamp, every specialty key worked exactly as it should, as did the software to program the keys to suit your needs. All in all it makes for a very customizable set up.
