Packaging:
The NHJ Limited MPM-201 comes packaged in a nice, heavy-duty, silver, retail box. The information on the box is ample enough for a retail setting to let you know exactly what you are getting.
The front of the box gives you a view of what the unit looks like, while the side of the box gives you the normal technical specifications and capabilities. The back of the box is plain so it is not pictured here.
Opening the box reveals another box that holds the various accessories. Again, it is sturdy enough that it will ensure nothing is damaged in transit. In this box, you find some of the accessories, which include the remote and button battery, s-video cable, docking cradle, foam carrying case, software CD, and manual/registration. Interestingly enough, inside the carry case, there is a little flap that holds CompactFlash and SD cards.
Below the first box is another box that is somewhat similar. In this box, you get a few more accessories, and the MPM-201 unit. These additional accessories include ear bud headphones, a battery for the MPM-201, an AC power charger, a USB cable, and an AV cable. Usually 'free' headphones are cheap and sound pretty bad, however the ones included were adequate and they reproduced the audio cleanly (except when you got to higher volumes). At higher volumes there was a substantial amount of distortion. The Sony headphones I usually use had none of the distortion at any volume level.
