Enermax, a well known name in computer parts, evolved in Lujhou City, Taiwan in the early 90's. Since this time they have spread their roots around the world and continue to spread, such as the North American subsidiary Cooler Giant that came about in 2003. Today Cooler Giant has sent a few of Enermax's new external drive enclosures over for review, the 5.25" aluminum Laureate enclosure (EB505U), and its smaller companion, the 3.5" aluminum Laureate enclosure (EB305C).
First Impression:
Both the 3.5" and 5.25" enclosures arrived in similar green boxes. Not your normal cardboard box, more of a carrying case. Each box has the word Laureate printed on the top, and is equipped with a built in magnet to hold the lid shut.
Opening the individual packages reveals similar contents, each of a different size of course. The aluminum enclosures show off the Enermax name in mirrored letters. Also seen in the images are the similar aluminum stands. Below we see the 5.25" model EB505U on the left and the 3.5" model EB305C on the right.
The next images show the back of the enclosures. Again we see the Laureate logo stamped here.
Each of the enclosures include the standard power and USB cords. A nice feature provided by Enermax is a six foot (2 meter) long USB cord to reach, well just about anything.
