Jing Ting Chipforce JTS-0006 Chipset Cooler
June 26, 2006

Only a few months ago I received a new chipset cooler from Jing Ting, the Chipforce JTS-0005. This cooler provided a very respectable decrease in temperatures with a design that allowed it to work with many SLI systems that previously had no cooler upgrade path. Today I have received an updated version of the Chipforce cooler, the JTS-0006. While the overall design remains the same as the Chipforce JTS-0005 Chipset Cooler, Jing Ting has made some improvements with the JTS-0006; such as copper fins, copper heat pipe, and a blue LED fan. Let's take a look and see if these changes offer any improvement over the impressive previous model.

Features and Specifications (taken from the Chipforce JTS-0006 Press Release):

» 4cm silent 21 dBA blue led fan.
» High technology design of patented anti-oxidated copper fin.
» High technology tube copper base that provides best heat transfer.
» Universal clip design for all motherboards.
» Unique swing heatpipe structure.

Packaging:

The Chipforce JTS-0006 arrived in a plain brown cardboard box, the only markings were labels that identified the manufacturer and the model of the cooler. The box was undamaged, and is more than sufficient for shipping. Just don't bother to visit the URL printed on the box, it doesn't work!

Once you open the box you can see the cooler and some various accessories. As you can see in the above right image the cooler had no protection from damage due to shifting while in transit. Unlike the previous model there is no foam to provide protection, but thankfully the cooler arrived undamaged in any form. This actually surprised me since it was shipped from Taiwan with two-day shipping by DHL.
