Audio Functionality:
Playing music is one of the key features of the iPod. On the music menu, you can select how you play your music.
Using the included iTunes application you can create a playlist, or use the automatic playlist features. The automatic playlist features gives you the choice of playing Recently Added, Recently Played, Top 25 Most Played, and On-The-Go lists. The one I found the most interesting was the "On-The-Go" list. While you're playing a song, you hold the center button and it adds it to the "On-The-Go" playlist. You can also do the same when looking at an alternate playlist, artist, or album. The others are pretty common, and self-explanatory.
Other audio playback options allow you to select the music by Artists, Albums, or Songs. Again, these are pretty standard and self-explanatory. Once you choose the option you want, it drills down to the next level. Artists will provide you a list of the Artists, then Album, then Song title. The Album skips the Artist view, and allows you to select the album title, then the song. Song, well that just gives you a list of all the song titles on the iPod.
Checking out the next screen shot, when you select music by song title, it will list all your songs, plus all your music videos in one list. If you do choose a music video through the music menu, it will only play the audio, it will not switch to the video portion.
