Conclusion:
This is the first time I have heard of or used an Icy Dock product, and I am impressed. The MB452UK-B enclosure does exactly what it is made for, with ultra portability and compatibility. I wouldn't use this drive as a primary source of storage because of the reduced speed of USB 2.0, but it is an excellent solution to backup any important data.
The only changes I would like to see would be the addition of a real power button in place of the key, and an adjustable control for the fan speed.
Searching PriceGrabber turns up several hits for Icy Dock, but nothing on this particular model. Searching elsewhere on the Internet shows that the Icy Dock MB452UK-B USB 2.0 3.5" External Drive Enclosure can be picked up for around $60.
Given the ease of use and overall good impression the Icy Dock MB452UK-B USB 2.0 3.5" External Drive Enclosure made on me, I award it a final score of four out of five stars, and a rating of "Recommended".
