|
Testing:
To test the Fatal1ty FS-C77 CPU cooler, I installed it in the following system:
• AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor
• ECS KN1 SLI Extreme motherboard (default settings)
• Thermaltake Tai-Chi Super Tower Case
• 2 - BFG Technologies GeForce 6600GT OC PCI-Express in SLI
• 2gb (4x512) Samsung 3200 DDR
• 2 - Seagate 80gb SATA in RAID 0
• 1 - Hitachi 120gb SATA
• Sony DVD-R DRU500A
• Memorex DVD/CDRW
• CoolerMaster CoolDrive 4 (used to take temperatures and fan speed)
• 8n1 3.5 Media Reader
• Logitech MX1000 Cordless Mouse
• Logitech "Natural" Cordless Keyboard
• 2 - 120mm LED Fan (default fans only)
To take the load temperatures, the following applications were run for several hours:
• EverQuest 2
• Folding@Home 4.0
• Sisoft Sandra 2005 Burn In Wizard
The chart below lists the various fan speeds of the coolers I will use in the temperature comparison. As you can see the Zalman Fatal1ty FS-C77 has a wide range of fan speeds. The default speed is pretty close to the maximum speed.
Here you can see the various temperatures reported both by the onboard temperature monitoring utility, and the Coolermaster CoolDrive IV. All temperatures were taken at the default speeds shown above, while maintaining an ambient temperature of 28C +/- 1C.
