Conclusion:

My hypothesis turned out to be correct. The room temperature air flowing through the aluminum tube did in fact decrease the system temperature. Even better the external fan moved such a high volume of air that I was able to turn down my CPU fan and all my case fans and the temperature were still normal in the high 300C, which is really good. The external fan has three speeds. You usually will only need it at low most of the time. On low, it's even quieter than my old raggedy tower. At medium its noise is just a tad above what my tower makes. At high speed, it can be loud. However, this is why I recommended the mouse pad or suctions cups to dampen the noise. I believe that this project was a huge success. I hope that you fellows out there, who can't shell out a couple of hundred bucks to upgrade to liquid cooling, will find this project useful.

Pros:

» Xtreme cooling
» Inexpensive
» With the material you could make more than 5 cooling systems (except the fan) that would just equate to the cost of a single liquid cooling system.
» Higher CFM flow of air, and a more direct way of cooling
» Easy to make

Cons:

» A bit loud at medium and high speed
» Takes time to make
» Inconvenient to have to turn on the external fan
» Consumes more electricity (from external fan)
» Doesn't look pretty. Looks like an I.E.D (improvised explosive device).

Total Cost of the Project:

» 1 external fan (brand: Honeywell): $9.99 (Bed Bath & Beyond)
» 1 roll of aluminum sheet: $5.30 (Home Depot)
» 1 aluminum cap (the one that goes on rain gutter): $0.49 (Home Depot)
» 1 rivet staple gun and pins: $7.49 (Home Depot)
» 1 durable plastic bag (Macy's or Mervyn's big bag): Free
» 1 flexible/expandable/retractable aluminum tube: $3.50 (Home Depot)
» 1 roll of paper tape: $1.29 (Home Depot)
» 32 minutes = T = 1 hour of your time to build: $$$?

Total: $28.06 + Tax (wherever applicable (CA = 0.0775) = $30.23

P.S: Remember that you could make more than one set of this Xtreme case air-cooling unit. If you want to remove the external system, just simply remove the box (the adapter) from the bay.
