Benchmarking (continued):
Aquamark - Aquamark performs standard benchmarks for testing the gaming capabilities of video cards. According to their site... "AquaMark3 is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming performance of a computer system. Because the benchmark extensively utilizes DirectX9, DirectX8 and DirectX7 functionality, it represents the requirements of typical gaming applications." The GFX portion of the score is presented below and show that the ECS KN1 SLI Extreme once again takes a lead over the Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI.
Unreal Tournament 2003 - The demo version of Unreal Tournament 2003 includes several test benchmarks that allows users to confirm the performance of their system before buying the game.. Here you can see the performance I received using the Antalus Botmatch benchmark.
Halo - Halo was tested using Benchemall, with a 1024x768 resolution, and pixel shader 2.0 support.
Battlefield 2 - Battlefield 2 is a fairly recent game, and had many people upgrading their systems in order to play it due to the serious hardware demands. Once again I used Benchemall at 1024x768 with maximum details.
Doom 3 - Doom 3 is another game that many people upgraded for. To keep the benchmarks similar, Doom 3 was benchmarked at 1024x768 with maximum details using Benchemall.
Overall, the ECS KN1 SLI Extreme motherboard provided a nice boost over the Gigabyte board in just about every category. The performance is impressive, and with minimal effort you have a decent upgrade over previous SLI motherboards.
