Conclusion:
The Digital Foci Memory Card Travel Case is almost an ideal solution for anyone faced with the problem of keeping a handful of memory cards safe, secure, and well organized. The case is stylish and lightweight, and provides a convenient location for storing up to eight memory cards from some of the most popular formats.
The main problem is that the rugged appearance and hard aluminum shell seem to be all about looks. One drop from three feet onto a carpeted floor broke the case and sent the cards inside scattering. Although it could have been an isolated defect, the fact that it broke so easily/quickly was a letdown.
This product can be purchased for $19.95 directly from Digital Foci, or through Amazon.com, which would seem quite reasonable if you could count on yours not breaking so easily.
Given all of the positive features of the Digital Foci Memory Card Travel Case, I was prepared to recommend it to anyone looking for a way to organize their memory cards for travel, and to award a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Then it dropped, and all illusions of it being rugged were shattered, just like the catch on the case itself. I still think it is a great idea overall, but one that might need a bit of work.
Final Rating (2.5 out of 5 stars):
Pros:
» Well designed internal compartments
» Compact and lightweight
» Attractive
Cons:
» Catch broke when dropped just once from three feet onto a carpeted floor!
