The Basics (continued):
In this picture, you can see the main chips of the Purity 3D MCE 500 TV Tuner. If you look closely, you can see the card's main feature is powered by Conexant chips. This is one of the main manufacturer's of TV Tuner chips, and is also used in cards by Hauppauge and ATI. This appears to be the same TV tuner Conexant chips that are used in the Hauppauge 500. You can also see the MPG II encoding chip provided by the ViXS XCodeII.
Here you can see the backside of the card. Nothing going on here.
Here you are able to see the available connections on the TV tuner. From the top of the card, you have a single cable/antenna, FM antenna, s-video, composite video, and finally analog left/right audio.
Here is the daughter card that provides you a second set of s-video and composite connections. This will take up an additional PCI slot (or at the least an expansion port). This is probably the first place that I would change anything. I would really like to see this be modular so you could install this into a 3.5" or 5.25" drive bay. This would allow you to connect an external device without the need to get to the back of the computer. This would be especially helpful in a home theater environment.
