Packaging:
The Aluminus came from Ultra Products well packed in a shipping box lined with Styrofoam sheets, and a retail box inside of that. The retail box was pretty much the standard affair with pictures and details of the case. Inside the retail box the case was wrapped in a plastic bag and had two Styrofoam end caps to protect it.
Inside the case we find a box which contains the Users Manual, drive rails, bag of hardware, keys, and the 5.25" bay device which has USB, Firewire, and audio ports.
Features:
"WOW" about sums up the first thing that will hit your mind when you get the Aluminus out of the packaging. Our review sample came in black, and other Aluminus models are available in silver and blue. Ultra Products calls the finish on the Aluminus a "Liquid Gloss Finish". Our review sample lived up to what you would expect from such a name. The review samples finish is second to none, and absolutely flawless. You will have to take my word for the fact that my photographic equipment and skills just do not do the Aluminus justice.
The front bezel of the Aluminus has a louvered design that has been used by many case manufactures for years. It is a classic design that I have always liked, and with the high gloss finish, it is still a pleasure to look at. There is a drive bay door that hides the five 5.25" drive bays, two 3.5" bays, and the power and reset buttons.
The whole front bezel is a door that swings open to reveal the 5.25" and 3.5" drive bays, as well as a snap in holder for a 120mm fan which is not included. As a matter of fact, the Aluminus does not come with any fans at all!
