It's been quite a while since we've seen anything from our friends at
Zalman. They recently sent us a box of goodies that included the item to be covered in this review; the Zalman ZM-NC3000U ultra quiet notebook cooler. This notebook cooler my weigh in at just 1.2kg, but it is big enough to hold a 220mm cooling fan and can support up to 17" notebook computers.
Just as we've seen in previous reviews of Zalman products, we look for this unit to meet their strict standard of providing great cooling performance and whisper-quiet operation, all wrapped up in a rugged chassis.

The ZM-NC3000U showed up in a nice, big retail box. The graphics are quite fetching and the design is certainly on par with previous Zalman products we've reviewed. The front of the box lists the features of the cooler, and provides enough angle shots to show you all the important parts without having to crack open the box. On the back there is a more detailed summary of the finer points regarding the ZM-NC3000U cooler. Also to note, Zalman has included a comparison chart in the lower right corner to give you an idea of the performance you might expect from this particular unit.
