Cables:

The cables for the Ultra Products X4 850W modular power supply deserve a bit of attention. They're not only interesting since everything is modular, but it also seems that a good deal of money has been spent on creating and packaging them.

The images below show how the cables are shipped... Individually bundled with Velcro ties, stored neatly in a two compartment cloth bag, and then protected inside a cardboard box. Definitely overkill, but the presentation does seem fitting considering the quality of the cables.

Before we take a look at each set of cables, lets cover what you get:

» 1 cable with a 24-pin motherboard connection (no split for 20-pin motherboards)
» 1 8-pin 12V motherboard cable
» 1 4-pin 12V motherboard cable
» 1 cable to convert a 4-pin drive connection to two 3-pin fan connectors
» 3 cables for 6-pin PCI-E graphics cards
» 3 cables for 8-pin PCI-E graphics cards
» 4 cables with three SATA drive connection each
» 2 cables with three 4-pin drive connections each
» 2 cables with two 4-pin drive connections and one floppy connection each

The below left image shows the motherboard cables plus the fan power adapter cable and the AC power cable. The below right image shows the six PCI-E graphics card cables.

The cables are all high quality. They have nice connectors, are sleeved so that no wires are exposed, and heat shrink tubing is used at every termination to make the sleeving look that much nicer. The wires themselves are thick enough to give you confidence in the quality, but not so thick that the bundles are too rigid to route through a case. While the lengths aren't shown here, sizing things up in a full tower case tells me there shouldn't be much issue reaching from one corner to the other.
