Syncing:

After charging the sunglasses for 2 hours, it was time to begin the syncing process. To sync the sunglasses, they need to be turned on by pulling out the right earbud. If you happen to be wearing them, you can hear a voice say "Hello". This tells you the sunglasses are activated. Simply hold down the OneTouch phone button for several seconds, which places the sunglasses in pairing mode. Check your device, and you should see an option to pair with "Eyewear". Selecting this option should complete the pairing.

For this review, the sunglasses were synced with several devices, including a Motorola Droid, HTC Incredible, Samsung Reality, PS3, and a laptop with integrated Bluetooth. The Tri-Specs can be synced with up to 8 devices, and paired with two different devices at a time.

It was successfully paired with almost all the devices tested, however one device failed to pair - the Motorola Droid. The sunglasses paired successfully and quite easily with the other devices, however with the Droid it attempted to pair with the sunglasses and eventually produced an error without connecting. The Motorola Droid does support the necessary Bluetooth profiles, so there appears to be an issue elsewhere.

In Use:

When connected to the HTC Incredible, the sound was clean and crisp. This is due to the quality of construction and the noise cancellation provide by STEP Labs. While walking around a busy park there was no issue with the background noise as callers could not tell where I was. In addition, the earbuds do a great job helping to keep the caller's voice or music clear.

There is no doubt the Tri-Specs are comfortable, at least for me. I don't wear glasses and most sunglasses I can only wear for about an hour before I have to take them off. The Tri-Specs were a pleasant surprise as I was able to wear them for over four hours without any issues. Another nice thing is that they do not look much different than a regular pair of sunglasses. If you don't look too closely, the Tri-Specs just look like a good pair of sunglasses.

During testing, I got about 4.5 hours of music playback before they needed to be recharged. This isn't bad, however it does take several hours to fully charge. A car charger is not included, but generic ones are fairly cheap to purchase. You can also charge these on a computer, which will take a bit longer to do. If the battery happens to die while using the Tri-Specs, you can obviously still use them as regular sunglasses.

Finally, their style is a personal preference. I don't sit in front of a camera for a reason, but thankfully Tri-Specs has provided some pictures on their website to show people better suited to modeling their product.
